I didn’t say 7.4 is slop. You spoke against people who are anti-slop, which generally suggests pro-slop.
Can’t wait for this anti-AI slop to stop.

I’ve seen a lot of pro AI posts, but I think this is the first one that’s actually pro slop.

There’s a fair bit of vitriol in here for the more “deserving” prisoners, and I kinda get it but it reminds me of a quote I’m going to have to paraphrase. “You don’t judge a society by how it treats the best among them. You judge it by how it treats the least among them.” Who we are isn’t how we act in front of rich and/or powerful people. It’s how we act when we are the ones with wealth and/or power. While I fully understand and support condemning atrocious acts, the vitriol and the support of misery says more about us on the outside than it does them on the inside.
And then there’s all the people who don’t even have good evidence to support their arrest.
What don’t you like about them? I personally find Nix to be suuuuuper handy once you get the hang of it, and I love that I can just back up my configs to get most of the system back. It is kinda annoying how its deviation from POSIX compliance breaks and complicates things, though.

Well yeah, that makes them money, this costs them money, the only true sin of capitalism.

Trump sounds better, but if you actually believed him, you sure as fuck weren’t paying attention in his first term.

Speed limits can vary wildly depending on where you are and what the roads are like. Sometimes, it can be as low as 30 mph, 50 is common, 70 typically mostly on highways. I’ve been through some areas where the limits feel weirdly low. In some cases, I suspect it’s deliberate to set speed traps for people passing through who don’t know better.
Now obviously, nobody should be pulling 80 in a 30 zone, but in light of some of the speed limits I’ve personally seen, I absolutely think a hard restriction to the speed limit will cost lives. Maybe it will save others. Maybe even more than it costs. But some will die. Maybe an emergency override would be possible, but of course people will abuse it. I dunno, I’m not sure what the right call is, honestly.

Emergencies happen, and we can’t always wait for the ambulance to come to us, especially if we’re out in the boonies.

Well, there’s the other interpretation, that they’re just stupid as shit. There’s no way an informed, educated, rational, and at least semi-kind person votes for Trump. If you did, you failed on one or more of those points. Personally, I prefer to think they’re (largely) mislead, not dumb. It’s easy to be fooled by the propaganda machine of the Epstein class.

Is it really defeatism, though? Simply not voting at all could turn tides. And it’s not like Republicans haven’t proven them right again and again and again and again. Republicans are conditioned HARD to never, ever consider voting for a Democrat.

and then fill it with cheap housing!
I think people are mad because they didn’t do that.
I hadn’t heard this theory before, but it does actually make a lot of sense.
