2·20 hours agoProbably not if what they say is true that they anonymize your queries. Not sure if they themselves keep a log though. A VPN and using a container tab or incognito can help you with that, assuming you don’t use a logged in account.

Fediverse@lemmy.world•some feedback about Lemmy/PieFed from Reddit usersEnglish
0·2 days agoMost of the UI complaints can be solved by using a different front-end. I guess that should be emphasized more when trying to convince people to try it. If any of those people never used old.reddit, I doubt they’ll like reddit either if that was the interface.
Possibly Apple pushing their AI and integrating airpods with it, so it’s always listening. You’ll probably still be able to disable it by turning of Siri learning from it, but Apple makes it frustratingly hard to turn off their AI features.

House cat. You’ll be pampered and have a comfy life. And unlike a dog, you don’t have to show affection to your owner. You can just not give a shit and they’ll find it adorable.

The only other option is some bird that can travel long distances and isn’t easy prey. That way you get to travel.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•[serious] Why is Lemmy community generaly against AI?English
1·8 days agoThe lemmy userbase consists of a lot of people who work or dabble in tech, a larger % than most other forums and social media. That means more people here have directly used AI for their day-to-day technical tasks/jobs, not your typical social media user who just uses AI to generate memes or do their school essay. So they have first hand experience of how inaccuracies with AI have larger consequences than 6 fingers on a hand.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Am I wrong for refusing to help my father?English
1·11 days agoIn most other circumstances it’s usually a relationship issue. In your case it’s literally a potential legal liability which can land you in hot water. So relationship with your father aside, you literally can’t do what is being asked of you because it’s illegal in the first place, even if you wanted to help.
So this is a very easy “no”.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Whats your favorite piece of media that was a commercial failure.English
0·26 days agoBlade Runner 2049 was technically a commercial failure by hollywood standards.
Human brains are pretty quick to adapt. If one day all that short form brain rot content ceases to exist, I’m sure people will be able to recover in a couple months. The attention and energy will just be redirected to something else, hopefully better and more enriching.
