It used to be that politicians wrote articles for newspapers in order to communicate with the wider public. This practice has been obsoleted by radio somewhat but definitely by video and TV. Which is why I think it’s odd for a “politics” comm to ban video, and focus on “only articles”, since that way it’s not really possible to post what the politicians are saying directly but only filtered through someone elses article.
