Putting aside the whataboutism, the historical anachronism, and the DARVO.

Canadian citizens are reckoning with it’s colonial past during the colonial period in the 17th century, it’s people now (who before were British subjects) understand the genocide, learn about it in school, and don’t support it.

While Israeli civilians (not just the IDF) blockade food trucks, have rallies for torturers and torture camps, ~80% say the IDF isn’t doing enough in Gaza, believe that killing children is ok because “they’re future terrorists”, have annual flag march calling “death to Arabs”, and fully agree on genocide – and this is after a whole system of laws have been created and humanity, as a whole, has a better understanding of it (except Israelis apparently).

Thats because Canadians genocided 90% of the natives. If Isreal genocided 90% of Palestinians then absorbed them and “reckoned with its past” I highly doubt you would be saying anything similar.

Also nothing I said was whataboutism, darvo or whatever. I was curious about your morals after such an insane statement.

Yes, you did. By bringing up Canada’s colonial history, that is a “tu quoque”, which is classic deflection.

And let’s assume that the apples and oranges that you’re comparing anachronistically is even relevant - hypocrisy doesn’t make the claim any less true.

By Israeli civilians own polls 64% believe there are no innocents in Gaza (including children). By Israelis own actions (blocking aid trucks) they have helped facilitate the genocide. By Israelis own public rhetoric by politicians and the citizens, they want a genocide. The NAZA documentary shows clearly how there is glee in the murdering of innocent people and that it’s murder en masse.

That is in contrast to Nazi Germany where the civilians didn’t know the Holocaust was happening and it was done in secret.

Israelis know about it, the world has laws against it, the video evidence is overwhelming and is everywhere, and they still provide full throated support for it. And that’s why I say that Israelis are worse than Germans during Nazi Germany.

There is no deflection, I am not disputing your claim I am asking about your worldview to see how and why you apply it in the way that you do. Ive already accepted the premise that Isreal is 100x worse than Nazi Germany I’m interested in why and how that differs to Canada. I assume by you posting such an extreme claim you wanted to have the conversation.

Off the bad your comparison between isreal and Germany is a lie. German civilians were in fact aware of the holocaust and complict in supporting the regime. Canadians were also aware of what was happening to natives and supported those policies and that political rhetoric.

So I can only assume that you either feel the same way about yourself or there is something different that you are evaluating. It seems to be time between the event and now. I dont think time between the event is meaningful given how short of a timeframe its been and how little remediation has been shown.

So I assume you think once isreal Genocides 95% of Palestinians and then expands to the ‘greater isreal’. Some time passes and they do some land acknowledgements then you would you change your tune?

            No, my tune wouldn’t change.

The Germans had a famous saying post-ww2. “We didn’t now about it”. Can’t say the same about Israelis.

And what was happening to the indigenous people in Canada? What policies? I’m curious to know what claims you’re making because so far you’ve been very general.

I hope you’ll forgive my tone because trying to compare history in a certain framing and anachronistically to today is what Israelis use to justify their continued colonization and genocide.
