If Musk just stopped right now and somehow converted all that net worth into a run of the mill bank savings account (not investment driven, just a routine bank savings account), at the FDIC average of about 0.4% interest, Musk could pay out $10 million per day to political projects and it would come just off the interest. 76 million dollars looks like a large sum to us regular folk, but to Musk that’s couch cushion change (if he was willing to clean off the JD Vance jizz). Hell, if he dropped a billion dollars a day on political influence it would take him, assuming no interest, no new income, no nothing, almost three full years before the well ran dry.
