Trump administration officials are reportedly floating former Hungarian prime minister Viktor Orbán for UN secretary-general, potentially backed by the US, Russia and China, though nothing is confirmed and his selection remains uncertain.

You’re either projecting too much onto Baerbock or know nothing of Orbán.

Trust me, Baerbock got nothing on him.

He’s a cartoon villain and an amateur. Have you seen the villa he got (in his dad’s name I think?). Junior bankers have bigger homes.

Bearbock meanwhile ran on a ticket of anti-militarism and feminist leadership. Ended up defending and arming a genocide. Next level.

You really seem to have no grasp on what Orbán actually did, do you?

Orbán’s own wealth seems minuscule because he doesn’t directly own it. It’s spread between a number of friends and family members.

The “villa” at Hatvanpuszta is just a vanity project. You’re completely forgetting the part where he forced a stadium to be built literally next door to his “family home”, how he attempted to make the entirety of Buda castle his own personal fiefdom, or the hundreds other vanity projects.

You’re forgetting how he’s managed to indirectly pocket 90%+ of all EU money coming to Hungary, making deals with international companies selling off the country while trying to claim he’s the saviour against immigration, and being the useful idiot asslicker of Putin within the EU who can stop any meaningful projects…

And that’s just scratching the surface, not even discussing how he’s managed to, just like Trump, upend democratic civility and create a political powder keg in Hungary and beyond…

Meanwhile Baerbock had sensible EU-focused policies (anti-militant? the person who fully supported the establishment of an EU army?).

Of course that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have bad policy ideas - being anti-nuclear, wanting de-nuclearisation, and, the worst, supporting Israel.

What you’re forgetting is that Orbán is a close friend of Bibi and has supported Israel just as much. The primary reason why Hungary hasn’t sent armaments to Israel was that Orbán already stole the money that could’ve been spent on support. But don’t worry, there’s plenty enough ties between the two, like Orbán using (and paying for) Israeli intelligence services like Pegasus, against his political opponents.
