I mean sure, the Library of Baghdad contained the sum of the world’s knowledge at the time, including many texts that were otherwise lost when the Library of Alexandria burned down.

Of course, the Library of Baghdad burned down too. But sure, blame Arabic speakers for not having enough literature per capita 🙄

What’s your point? The library was burned down in a war with the Mongols. All countries at the time experienced war and destruction of cultural sites. They friggin didn’t have ALL their writings in one library. The main destruction of those writings are by their own religion. There’s an awful lot that is illegal to write even under the penalty of death. How is that not an Arabic cultural problem?
The Arab countries collectively lost their sense for culture, and instead turned to fundamentalist religious practices, and sharia law, that makes culture and science as limited as it was in Christianity 500 years ago.

Ah yes, because as we all know, “Arabic” is a religion… 🙄

There’s an awful lot that is illegal to write even under the penalty of death.

You know Arabic is spoken in many countries, with laws that vary quite a bit. And not all Arabic-speaking cultures are even Muslim like you’re implying.

The Arab countries collectively lost their sense for culture

Ah, I see you know almost nothing about Arabic countries then.

Honestly your entire comment reads like “Blaming Jews for Zionism”

You can criticize governments, you can criticize fundamentalist religious groups, but when you try to generalize those groups to an entire language, culture, or religion, then you’re ignorant and you’re being a bigot.

All Arabic countries are Muslim. You are debating in bad faith, or you are in denial about reality.
Making a point on semantics is not actually making a point, it just makes you look stupid.

Right, “semantics.” Is that what you call it whenever someone points out that you’re wrong?

it just makes you look stupid.

            🪞 How’s the view?
