Michigan Democratic Party chair Curtis Hertel made it crystal clear on Sunday that Rep. Haley Stevens (D-MI) was no longer welcome in the state’s Democratic party.
Hertel posted to X after Stevens yanked her support from Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed (D) and gave it to his Republican challenger, “Congresswoman Stevens is not a current member of the Michigan Democratic Party, nor will she be in the future.”

When Israel comes to you in your dreams, you listen. These are her values. And we knew that before she lost the primaries as well. And the Michigan Democratic party knew that as well. And they would’ve thrown their full weight behind Stevens if she had won the primary, despite her values.
