I was amusing myself mildly while making tea, doing random freestyle songs, as you do. Came up with a couple lines that really grabbed me, started writing more. I’m kind of hitting a wall though. Anything you’d add to this? Hope this kind of question is acceptable.
Here’s what I’ve got so far:
The beauty of this world is a curse to smite your heart
A fractal hypersigil undetectable in part
Though you may understand it as a timelike hologram
The wisdom of the ancients predates the voice of Man
The truth is never ugly, no news is never bad
And when you’re dead and gone it’ll be the best you’ve ever had
Sunburned by the darkness at the gods’ own twilight
You’ll thrash in frozen ecstasy when the stars are right
Try to imagine this as a Lovecraftian lounge song, slow and comfortable in tone. It’s basically like if Richard Cheese covered a chant from the Necronomicon. Would love to workshop this with any randos who want to join in, if it grabs you too. Also open to punch-ups on the lines I’ve already written. If we can get it to a good place, I might upload a demo.

I’m imagining if you did this Gregorian chant style and holy hell that would be sick
Maybe if I can expand it into a song-length set of lyrics, it’d be worth hearing it as a straight-up evil cultist chant, but I think it’d be a lot of fun to play it for laughs ironically as well.
