This is a non-profit organization… i tend to treat it more like a community i am part of rather than just another business transaction i can just quit and leave any time
Maybe i am just naive

No, i mean give them a chance to make changes before cancelling…

thank you for your help!
i didn’t even bother asking questions…
ensure that Proton does not deviate from our mission…
i just listed all the ways that shouting down engineers, shipping things quickly without QA, and over-reliance on AI are clearly detrimental to a mission of privacy, freedom, trust, and community… it’s not even up for debate at this point. remove the CEO and CTO and put someone in charge who will restore trust and accountability.

i’m not sure crippling them financially is the best route… effective, but maybe not the best for the future of the company (if they decide to change course…) it’s not like they’re a silicon valley company flush with VC money to absorb the losses. they’re already saying that revenue isn’t where they want it to be…
Proton is run by a non-profit foundation. It’s not a publicly traded company
Please contact the foundation board of trustees to ask for change
Write to the board to ask for changes
i’m also holding out hope for leadership change… email alternatives are hard to build… it’s not like forking software when the leadership goes nuts…

What rush to add features?
I’ve been a paying proton customer for over 10 years…
proton has been the slowest to do anything new … which i dont mind because i only use mail… i dont care for any of the cloud features… actually i was annoyed for a long time that they were wasting so much time on shiny new cloud features, when the core mail system had so much lacking…
releasing new features quickly has NEVER been part of their DNA… not sure why the idiot CEO is suddenly obsessed with shipling things quickly

Private pool lessons is nowhere NEAR private jets…
My brother is nowhere near private jet rich, but his kid gets lessons in backyard pool in the neighborhood…

I’ve yolo’d every major upgrade from debian 8 to 13 without any backups of configs and survived… (dont do that though)
For most desktop systems where you’re not dicking around with files in /etc, there is almost no pain ever
For servers, dealing with the “do you want to install the maintainers version of ____.conf”, sucks… trying to remember all the things i put in php.ini is a pain
Probably skill issue

forced… so I avoided it.
So… not forced.

they’re not that useful in your own wallet because then you constantly need to move them in/out of the exchange and pay all the fees related to those transactions.
Hot wallets are for small amounts for daily spending
It’s the same as constantly going to the ATM to get cash in your wallet…
Nobody carries around their whole net worth in their pockets

Oh fucking hell…
I gave him the benefit of the doubt with his trump “support” comments… but this is clear as day, asshole behaviour…
Been a protonmail customer for over 10 years… not sure where to move next

Let me guess… the protest was organized on instagram and now everyone’s account is closed?
You used to be able to BIOS flash workstation GPUs to make them somewhat usable for gaming… not sure how far these AI GPUs have diverged from gaming cards these days and if a BIOS flash could make them playable.
