Same but I can take zero credit for my taste, I had online friends with great taste in music.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•The powdered milk has become soapy tiddies
2·1 day agoI think Charlotte’s Web had something like this.
Spoilers for like a 20 year old show I guess, but ::: spoiler <House spoilers> House literally fakes his own death to run away into the sunset on his motorcycle with Wilson after Wilson is diagnosed with cancer. Literal ride or die couple. Admittedly partly to escape legal consequences, but he could have done that any way he wanted. :::

Progressive Politics@lemmy.world•[Video] Dr. Jill Stein is facing 18 months in prison by the US regime for protesting against genocide
3·2 days agoShe’s not facing 18 months. They are pressing some small charges against her and some other protestors, and the max prison time could be 18 months.
Every news article I’ve ever read that contained the phrase ‘facing [x] months in prison’ chose the maximum possible sentence for x. That’s just what that phrase is meant to convey, that the law allows for a punishment as high as [x] months.
Example: https://www.yahoo.com/news/politics/articles/congresswoman-8-months-pregnant-facing-120000922.html
She has on safety glasses, that means nothing bad can happen.

10·3 days agoIt’s funny? I think I may have seen it in a textbook many years ago as an example of the patent boom that happened after the Industrial Revolution in the US.

Programmer Humor@programming.dev•For all the ladies who'd fail this Satan's test
1·5 days agoDoes that make it dangerous to log in persistently anywhere, period, in case you click on a shady link? I legitimately don’t know much and trust common sense prevention (run sites through virus total if I’m not familiar with them) and built in protection to do most of it, and I haven’t had any known password thefts from anything other than servers getting hacked. I do have an authenticator app and use it on really important stuff (government, school) but that’s about it.

Technology@lemmy.world•Police Are Using AI to Pull Over Drivers for ‘Suspicious’ BehaviorEnglish
75·5 days agoThe Wired article linked by the OP article mentions visiting multiple banks in a week as suspicious behavior that gets flagged… if we had a car (assuming it needs a license plate to attach to you and look up info), that would have pinged my spouse last week. Stupid fucks live in such ivory towers that they’ve never had a bank run out of quarters for the washing machine.

1091·6 days agoInstead of typing a prompt and getting a response, Dazzle has users snap a photo as the starting point and lets the agent point to what it thinks the next course of action should be. “Snap a picture of a purchase you’ve been thinking about, a flat tire, or fridge ingredients, and Dazzle buys on approval, schedules repairs, or suggests recipes,” the company says.
Finally, what we really needed: ChatGPT for people too lazy to type a prompt
