I think the fedi project that it most interesting in this regard is Holos, where your fedi server runs on your device. Having an app that runs on your phone that “just works” is probably the best solution long-term, and it feels like Holos has a reasonable chance of achieving it.

It’s a timeless costume

A costume that allows you to say the most annoying, unhinged things to your coworkers for the night seems very cathartic.

Do they have a favorite apple, or just any apple? And toddler-proof seems like the most important property for a theme costume with a toddler.

The last idea is giving Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence but all of them sound fun — I love a couple’s costume.

I’ll share the low-effort one I thought of that inspired me to ask this, which to just write the number 4 in black marker on a white tee and go as a certificate authority, but I expect y’all to have better ideas.

We are, and there’s no way to prevent it. Writing it out wouldn’t help much, because people will find ways to violate the spirit of the law while following its letter, but who you talk to and how, who mods and how, who follows or blocks whom, all of these things feed into the etiquette of the ecosystem. We are, with every interaction, showing each other what is and is not tolerated.

I find the negativity to be an issue. I solve it with the block button.
