One of my favourites names like this is Bicester.
Like Wallace and Gromit but instead of cheese it’s biscuits.

96·4 days agoThere’s always a lot of comments about the police having no ethics and what not. The focus should be on who decided and who agreed to Palestine Action as being a terrorist organisation.
The act of supporting a terrorist organisation is illegal. Police have to follow the law and not decide that today they won’t because they don’t believe in the law.
Either Palestine Action needs me be removed as a terrorist organisation or laws changed to allow peaceful signs of support not illegal.

10·8 days agoMy wife had one like this too. It has been in water for months, not dying but not growing either. Then finally a tiny root is now shooting off - slowly!
When I was 16 I had a temp job doing the bins at a hospital. One floor was cancer patients. There was one woman who always said hello to me with a big smile. It stuck with me because I couldn’t understand why somebody in that situation was being so nice to somebody she only saw for 5 mins a day.
Next floor down was for old people. That was a lot more scary than the cancer ward. People dying unexpectedly, aggressive old men, shit all over the toilet floors. I’m glad I did only the bins.

2·11 days agoIn some countries, I want to say Norway but I could be mistaken, they have limits on the levels of acrylamide. I worked for a food manufacturer once who used a product called acrylaway in the wet end of the process when the dough is made. I don’t know how it worked in the baking process but it lowered the levels and allowed the food to be sold to the country.

Bideford is another I like.
