Yeah Rust is a fairly low level language like C/C++ which should usually give you similar performance once compiled. The reason Rust was made and had become somewhat popular even before LLMs is the language and compiler are very strict. This means it is much harder to introduce things like memory leaks and concurrency issues. However this also means that it is generally more difficult to work in and learn than C due to needing to work within those restrictions especially when trying to get a new project going. However that does mean if you are going to do most of the coding via LLM tools then those tools are bound by the same strict rules and thus less likely to introduce hard to fix/reproduce memory issues.

Strom Thurmond is basically the prime example of needing age limits for elected office, that shithead didn’t retire from the senate until he was 100 then died a few months later. He was pro segregation and pro jim crow laws while claiming he wasn’t racist just a supporter of “states rights” just like other lowlife white supremacists and still somehow kept that senate seat until freaking 2001. By the end there he was basically a way more evil crypt keeper making sure to do as much damage to humanity as he could on his way out.

6·2 days agoYeah the graphene team has done an amazing job of making a privacy/security hardened phone that a regular user would really have to go out of their way to break the security.

2·2 days agoUnfortunately Cori Busch crowded out any other challengers to Bell in MO-1 due to her formerly holding that seat and being high profile but she is deeply unpopular and lost decisively in the primary. Maybe in 2 years I will register to run against bell and soundly lose by refusing to take money from lobbyist/special interest groups but it would be fun just to be able to vote for myself.

1·2 days agoThey tried to push Amendment 3 over the line by adding in some anti-trans nonsense then running all the yes on 3 ads saying it will protect kids from forced trans surgery or some nonsense. Luckily MO GOP have tried so much bullshit like that over the last 15 years or so that even MO voters won’t fall for it.

You do have to remember that pigs/prosecutors often use pressure, lies, and threats to get people to take plea deals to crimes they did not commit.
