  • Portainer is a webinterface for managing docker containers on your server. One of its disadvantages is that it kind of holds your docker-compose files hostage within its own system instead of storing them in sensible folders that would be accessible from other management apps. Dockge fixes that issue as far as I am aware.

I don’t have a complete list of what they are changing but I believe they are slowly restricting features in their free tiwr. Recently there was an article posted here about how they are now breaking up the link between their paid and free version, basically providing two entirely different services now instead (if I recall correctly. If not, please correct me).

Personally, I still use portainer because that’s what I started out with and I haven’t gotten to migrating yet. If I were to set up a new server I would use dockge, arcane or dockhand though.

  • This is great and I wished I found it a week ago.

I have spent the last week building a basic 3D rendering engine in C, though I restricted myself to isometric rendering which I considered the simplest form to implement. Especially since trying to talk shop with ChatGPT on the topic usually lead to very complicated design recommendations that far exceeded the amount of features I actually cared about in my proof of concept (e.g. variable camera position, adjustable field of view and more)

Now I only need to figure out how to cull unwanted triangles from my loaded .obj files
