What purpose do humans have now?

Thinking back to the ‘you either make fun of astrology or get laid’-meme… Maybe I should ask my mom about my time of birth.
I mean, it is literally here, so…
How come people nowdays instantly assume someone stating facts is supporting an agenda? I am genuinely curious, because there isn’t the slightest indication of that in this post.
AI is developed and datacenters are build this very moment, whether you, I or OP like it or not. There is no debate or opinion here.

It really is remarkably better than Code. Single-window, multi-repo, multi-worktree support? Not a problem. Want a closer look at the diff? Why stop there, you can maximize every single panel. The Git integration is also so much better, no extensions required. Lots more stuff is integrated, yet less setup is required and somehow it is still much faster than Code.
You can really tell that a ton of thought went into this IDE

Zed is actually a pretty good editor IMO. Miles ahead of Code at least

I am still not convinced vim does much of anything for your productivity.

That’s why people invented properties / auto generated getter/setter - in at least 95% of cases they are just busywork.

It’s all about using your time and money to do as much good as possible by some objective measure. It falls apart completely if you don’t share the objectivist perspective thought. From a nihilistic POV, I would argue these measures don’t really matter at all. In my personal opinion, it’s better to do something that feels important to you personally (both with your time and your money).
That said, I do heavily recommend giving https://80000hours.org/ a look regarding this topic. They are not all about effective alturism, but it is a key part of their work. Their career guide touches on basically all important parts of it, and I think it gives genuinely good advise and some interesting perspectives.
I do buy that at least the authors are actually serious about doing something good here, obviously I have moved past some of their notions thought.

I know this is a joke - but there totally is hardware acceleration for some of this stuff in modern processors. There definitely is for JS, JSON and generally string stuff. It’s not even x86 only, ARM got these kinds of things as well (although likely less of it)
I mean, if you feel like you’re addicted, you should probably look into it. I wouldn’t do this by asking random strangers, but rather search for medical sources. For example you could search for (legit) porn addiction questionaires and if it turns out you indeed score high there, what you can do about it.
