2·4 hours agoGiven the content in question, it could be anything from a DDOS to an old-fashioned hug of death to fascists peeing on the server rack. It was up earlier, at least. Might just spin up a VPN…

Technology@lemmy.world•Bluesky blocks links to leaked DHS employee data as government seeks takedownsEnglish
14·8 hours ago“Our Community Guidelines protect people’s safety and privacy by prohibiting the unauthorized sharing of personal information and other content that could pose safety risks. Because the files include the email addresses and phone numbers of individuals, shared without their authorization, we are blocking links to the dataset.”
I understand where they’re coming from because they shouldn’t pick-and-choose who gets doxxed, the info in the leak hasn’t been vetted it could contain random innocents, if violence happens and someone was enabled by info on their platform they could be held liable etc. etc. Like I get it, I do, and fuck off for censoring on the side of the fash, but at the dame time I get the feeling they might not be absolutely 100% sincere in removing this from their platform since the block message leaves the URL on it’s own line as easily copied text…

4·14 hours agoEeh, not necessarily. Eric Johnson is next in line, and he’s pretty chill.
society has shifted away from that kind of representation of casual sexual harassment as being acceptable.
I think we agree? My point is that this movie does not depict it in a negative light, which is gross. Showing it because it’s ‘realistic’ is likely self-fufilling, showing it as commentary is very different from how sexploitation films usually operate.
Having just watched an episode of the A-team, I think it’s that when these iconic vehicles are onscreen and ‘doing things’ they play the score. (I’m just assuming that’s true for the other two as well, it was true in other 80s shows I’ve seen and seems to have been something of a trope)
I wonder how much of that behavior is because it was viewed as acceptable behavior through things like its portrayal in this movie? “Media shapes culture shapes media” is an argument, but “it’s realistic” falls a bit flat as a reason to perpetuate normalizing the behavior since clearly society has shifted away from that kind of representation of casual sexual harassment as being acceptable.
Fucking christ I’m glad I don’t live in the 80s…
They call it in, and Murphy decides to show Lymangood something interesting. They fly over to nearby Encino, which is outside their patrol area. At 9:30PM, Lymangood is able to observe a very flexible young woman doing some amazing yoga moves in the nude. Unfortunately, they are interrupted. That “abandoned car” they spotted earlier was not abandoned.
For anyone else confused like I was, these were iconic vehicles from some old and terminally 80s television shows (“A-team”, “Knight Rider”, “Air wolf”). Seriously, the theme songs alone are just… wow.

They absolutely do, though? Off the top of my head, Curiosity and Perseverance are both powered by a NASA-developed nuclear reactor.
In total, over the last four decades, 26 missions and 45 RTGs have been launched by the United States.

politics @lemmy.world•Conservatives on “Voter Fraud” Quest Get Charged With Identity Theft
25·2 days agoFor anyone curious:
“It is not against the law to be performative, it is not against the law to be offensive, it is not against the law to say the things they said standing outside the polling place,” Moriarty said. “We can’t let people’s political bent or what they’re here to do affect our decisions in deciding whether to issue felony charges. We take that very seriously. None of that played a role. The fundamental issue here is you cannot go into a polling place and misidentify yourself and use other people’s identity and say that to our election judges when you apply for a ballot, whether or not you intend to vote.”
Really quite well said.
I won’t quibble over semantics, thank you for providing a source!
What? The two processes are nothing alike, where did you hear that they were? OPPO is adjusting surface flaws in machined components by filling with 3D resin, whereas Apple is directly printing components from an amorphous metal.

At that range, absolutely. A blank will blow a sizable hole in a rat or mole. People die every year from the perception that blanks are “safe”; aside from any barrel debris or wadding that may be ejected, they are still completely lethal at very close ranges because of the pressure wave.
