All those place are culturally autistic (excluding Spain, where I thought public toilets are free if not widely avialable?) GDP is not the only measure of a place’s worth.

I don’t think most people know enough about convenience pricing to be outraged about it.

The whole system of personalised pricing is designed to be unnoticeable to the general public or even make you think you’re paying less.

On a sidenote I don’t like the attitude of other commentators saying it’s just for Starbucks so it doesn’t matter to me, I make my coffee at home. Nothing is stoppin the system of convenience pricing to infect everything that isn’t Starbucks and everyone needs to buy groceries.

E: I misunderstood the OP, I thought he was talking about surveillance pricing/ personalised pricing which is something else entirely. Paying more because you want your drink at 3 in the morning or delivered to you or from a smaller store near you is normal and makes sense to me.
