Sandisk (SNDK) is down 42% past 6 months, however year over year they’re still up 272%, and past 5 years they are up 2,200%. So, like, to give it some perspective, they have plenty far to fall still.

And as we know, the US Constitution sure has stopped them doing whatever they want.

I envy those of you who still have any hope he’ll have any amount of accountability at all for anything ever.

Think they really missed the mark by producing and posting this. It’s been so long and it’s become such a meme, that this weak “reveal” is just going to make them more of a laughing stock. Just wait until you actually have something of substance to show.
I already manage a lot of self hosted stuff, and this cloud storage is specifically for my crucial off-site backups.
For those of us who do need Drive for cloud storage, any suggestions? I’m looking for around 2tb. Please don’t say self hosted NAS.
Proton has had very bad press past week. In case you missed it, an article came out exposing an internal work culture that very much did not match up with what customers were being sold, including potentially sidelining security to prioritize speed of development of new features.
Bitwarden. The trajectory has not been inspiring. Changes to licensing and private equity getting involved.

My Oneplus 11 has been through the ringer with no case. Practically thrown it at concrete on more than one occasion. The body is scuffed here or there, but the glass is pristine. Kinda wild to me because I had phone in the early days that broke their glass if you looked at them wrong.

I took my payment method off so it can’t auto renew. If there aren’t significant changes, I’m gone. Really sucks because I bought all in on their product stack, just pretty much all of it. Oh well.
It’s a mandrill which, while once believed to be a kind of baboon, is more recently thought to be related to other kinds of monkeys more than baboons.

You can and should be involved in what your retirement is invested in. If you’re concerned about this, you could move that money into something safer.

For the record, nowhere in this conversation did I say that I think people should move. You’re putting words in my mouth. I’ve only ever spoken about myself and my own plans.
That clarified, I do think people should not support a company with leadership like Proton’s.
You do not need a perfect or “better” (subjective) alternative to leave Proton. If you are not willing to accept an inconvenience for a moral stance, then it is no moral stance at all.
Just because I do not personally yet know what I will be switching to does not at all undermine my position. I do not think you are carrying on this conversation in good faith, so I’m going to end it here.

??? I already answered that 7 comments ago. You asked me for my opinions and I gave them, I’m so confused.

If you don’t take issue with the things raised in the article, then you do you. For me, they are enough for me to leave Proton. You came into this conversation asking me what alternatives I was interested in.

I suppose I’m just confused at the purpose of the sentiment, then. Not having a perfect alternative is not a good excuse to continue supporting Proton with its current leadership and direction.

Changes to licensing, private equity getting involved. It’s not as bad as this Proton exposé imho, but I still don’t like the trajectory.

I never claimed that there was.

Haven’t done enough research to say yet. Others have been suggesting in the thread. Might self host my passwords. Email seems the easiest switch with the most options. Cloud storage, not sure yet; I need a decent amount of it for crucial backups.
I’m confused… If you’re the one paying for it, why do you need to convince them of anything? They can come along or pay for their own services.
