Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Green Party 2026: They're Electable If You Vote For Them
71·5 days agoWasn’t the Green Party the clown who was all about saying Israel is doing a genocide but couldn’t utter the words that p*tin did an illegal invasion and is a war criminal ?

linuxmemes@lemmy.world•Learning C++ for my perfect Linux programs launcher and themes (because I refused to have the limitations of rofi or wofi), wish me luck
1·7 days agoTrue, it was just a recommendation because for me it made more sense this way around. Like objects are just structs with function pointers and some compiler magic to ensure private and publicness, polymorphism is just unions etc.

7·7 days agoHonestly C and C++ code are the same. You can use C++ function calls and objects when needed and have everything else pure C. Don’t think of them as two completely different languages, C++ is more of an “object oriented framework for c” than its own language. That is a gross oversimplification but you get what I mean.

105·7 days agoAs C++ is a superset of C, I reckon you should start with C, as many concepts of C++ are translatable to C, which is what the first C++ compiler did.
I still use fprintf instead of cout because it feels more “proper”

2·9 days agoKinda rich for a language where mie roogs would be a valid pronunciation.
We have to remember, the tech sector did a lot of over-hiring which didn’t meet growth. Saying it’s because AI automation is nowadays a get-out-of-jail-card for companies to adjust their staff size without a huge drop in value.
