Hah, hah, hah!

Iirc the main reasons at the time were the economy, fuel shortages and Iran.
Which is kind of ironic.
Probably the main difference with today is that there’s no fuel shortage, but is expensive af, and the previous economic malaise was caused by staglation (high unemployment and high inflation).
The post-Vietnam war and post-Watergate 70s was a bad time to be around for most, and Reagan used this as a pretext that Keynesianism wasn’t working and that small government (i.e. tax cuts for the rich, deregulation*, low social expenditure and somehow imcreased defense expenditure) would save the economy, but we know how the story goes.
*Deregulation had started with Carter.

I always thought that Intel was what kept AMD in place being a cool producer of linux-friendly components, so I pretty much dread the day AMD gets to be free from the shackles of competition.
Uh oh, I detect a schism.
Shine On You Crazy Diamond is absolute tops, it is a trip indeed.

Oh… For a second I thought these were new Jackass episodes.

Don’t give me hope.

I do really wish with all my heart that dems win, grow some balls and they let the courts throw the book at the culprits of this for the maximum sentence.
Then again, I might wish for a million dollars and a laser unicorn, which is more plausible.

Who detects the detectors.
I like this classic comic style, so evocative.

Again?! An unwarranted attack by the anglophones against the Québécois GPU artisans!
L’enterrement de cyber-crapaud!!

Ok let me get my glasses:
…And many more.

Gremlins was definitely not for kids IMO, and we watched it on Christmas because why not.
My advice, as always, is to take a look at current offers and to try to find both a line of work and a company that would interest you (and has the right benefits for you). Then build towards the requirements, not the other way around.
