Maybe, but do you drop the 7th largest economy in the world, and entree into others? Not saying it will work, but as a pushback of the wealthy it’s an interesting leverage.

France has approved a proposed tax that aims to tax the amount of internet data per gigabyte sent to French users in the country, with major companies like Google, Netflix, TikTok, and Meta now in the crosshairs. According to minutes released by the National Assembly, members voted 11-10 in support of the motion on October 30 — which now means the new law has been added to the country’s next budget, despite major opposition from the government side and the finance committee rapporteur. The law still has to pass through the Senate for final approval. The latest amendment, introduced by socialist lawmaker Laurent Lhardit, could see content providers pay €0.055 (roughly $0.06) to the government for every gigabyte of content distributed to French users.
So not the end user directly, but the companies who deliver the content. Like a fee to access France’s users, pay to play.

So worth remembering that incident of politican harassment has gone up by about 50% irrespective of party in the last 3 years federally. Also true across the board in the US.
I am not justify the acts, but putting this in context.
it’s obvious, but the system isn’t responding to, connecting with, or improving constituents lives. Or the constituents have become less tolerant of not being listened to… even if the message are mixed.
And of course the media is not helping. Telling the whole story is important, not just a perspective.
Edit: Down voting me doesn’t make it any less true you absolutely stupid dumbasses. You want to make the world a better place, be willing to deal with the complex truth that is the dn world!

this is such a weird situation…
this is an excerpt of a book, the Dutch are know to have hacked the Russian, but it’s unclear the Russian hacked Kushner’s iPhone.
Even if that is true right now we have a single source on the money transfers so while it might be true, there hasn’t been corroboration. One book seems to make the statement and a bunch of news is talking about it.
The screenshots are only described not shown.
This all sounds like Kushner, but without real fact this is just finger pointing. Time to use critical thinking skills.

For those on iPhone and at any risk, ICEBlock app is potentially better, as it maintains more privacy.
The reason they don’t do android:
At ICEBlock, user privacy and security are paramount. Our application is designed to provide as much anonymity as possible without storing any user data or creating accounts. While we understand the desire for an Android version of ICEBlock, achieving this level of anonymity on Android is not feasible due to the inherent requirements of push notification services.
It would be making the companies pay for their delivery of content, so not a direct payment by the customer. Companies play to play for access to French citizens. How the companies deal with that is hugely variable, but think of this as a step towards wealth tax.
Also France desperately needs more revenue as it is nearing a debt crisis on it’s own, which might be some of what is behind this.
