The real culprit sounds like web itself, being designed so that browsers can deliver 0-click spyware. Once that capability exists, of course baddies will use it. Surprise directed at the baddies is almost completely misplaced.

I’m on IRC some of the time, mostly Libera. I’ve run and used a self-hosted nextcloud chat server a little, and have fooled with Jami and Jitsi Meet. At my old work we used Slack. At another one, Hipchat. I’ve never used Discord.

What? Lol. FBI raid incoming. Or treasury dept or whatever.

I’m not sure, lemme ask my magic 8 ball… ok it says reply hazy.

If you’ve measured the output of a stationary home solar panel, I guess one that is flat rather than angled to be more like a car roof, then that counts as a measurement. Or maybe the one in your pic has a solar panel angled towards the sun, which is interesting. I’m more interested in measurements than math right now though.
I think smaller EV’s get around 4 miles per KWH. So if you can get 2 KWH/day from solar, that’s good enough for a daily grocery run around here.

Have you done a measurement, or are you guessing?

2kwh sounds like more than “half a kwh”.

400w x 8 hours is 3.2kwh.

I think it’s ok for you to make a followup attempt but don’t overdo it and don’t expect too much.
My reaction to the story is that by my slobby standards, you sound a bit too organized and that can be an issue. I’m not much of a planner. No idea if that fits your guy though.
Generally when getting to know someone, I find having voice phone calls to be better than texting. If you have his phone number, what happens if you call him?
When you disconnected for your trip, was that because you’re otherwise online all the time? That’s not so healthy either. Was the disconnection just from the internet, or from voice calls too? It might have been cool to have a few phone calls during the trip.

Here in the US there are plenty of guitar players but my dad encouraged me to play the bass. He said there was always demand for bass players, both electric and acoustic. I didn’t pursue it though. That was for jazz, which is what he was into. Dunno about other genres.
If you like healthcare but don’t like nursing, can you go to medical school and become an MD?
I managed to find out that TWS stands for “true wireless stereo”, meaning two separate buds each with its own battery and radio, that go into a charging case with its own battery. So 3 more batteries to fail in addition to the privacy invasions. Gack.
Tired: TWS. Wired: as it says, wired, as in wired earbuds.

I thought those were from low budget football teams that couldn’t afford a quarterback.

Org mode my dude or dudette.

Heads up: they have more guns than you do, padre. And they will flatten you with a drone swarm before you can shoot anywhere near them. Your plan is 0 out of 10 for sound judgment.
There are apparently Alcoholics Anonymous types of programs for gay people who want to get rid of those urges. They go to meetings to have prayer sessions and stuff like that. It’s all with up-front intentions, but what ends up happening is these things always invariably turn into gay dating services. Heh.
Dunno about type theory per se but I visited a Haskell-based company a while back, and they said 50% of the women they interviewed were trans. Not sure of the cause and effect relationship. I know of several male-at-the-time programmers who got interested in Haskell and then transitioned later.
The software is almost completely irrelevant. It’s all about the story archive. Given Lemmy’s observed distaste for edgy content, I don’t think a federated AO3-like repo is likely to fly, but I’d love to be proven wrong. It might be preferable to have a straightforward mirror if that can be arranged with AO3.
