He’s of Filipino descent. Heart disease is the leading cause of death of Filipinos. Every Filipino I know has high blood pressure.
While Filipinos living in Philippines have a difficult time obtaining health care, health education, and access (to things like maintenance medication), he’s not living in the Philippines. He most definitely had access to healthcare and medications. A darn shame for sure.

Yeah… only a few years older from me. I started having some mild health issues these past few years which I never had anything my entire life prior to this. Idk if its because of that but I have serious issues changing or even taking my meds despite knowing it will lead to more issues sooner by doing so. Seeing stuff like this is kind of a reality check sadly. I do hope to get my shit together sooner than later. I really dont care to die in my 40’s or 50’s if I can help it.
You have no idea how he was trying to deal with these problems. People can respond with all that and still die, but here at Lemmy we like to blame people who have disease.
