He’s of Filipino descent. Heart disease is the leading cause of death of Filipinos. Every Filipino I know has high blood pressure.

While Filipinos living in Philippines have a difficult time obtaining health care, health education, and access (to things like maintenance medication), he’s not living in the Philippines. He most definitely had access to healthcare and medications. A darn shame for sure.

Adding to this, rural hospitals are closing. Healthcare is hemorrhaging too.

Looking at their website, those coffee prices are more offensive than Stamp Act coffee. This is a definite try before I buy. Especially if your description is “pretty tame”.

Perhaps I’m sheltered. My local roaster is cheaper. And I’m not that far away from calling this place local.
