Since when do you need any form of ID to vote? I can’t think of a single time I have had to, even when I had to file a provisional ballot because my name wasn’t in the ledger for some reason.

Most US states have a voter ID law.

ID is required at least in some states, and in my home state of Michigan, if you do not have ID you have to sign an affidavit and your ballot goes through a special process.

Since Republicans spread the lie that illegal immigrants were taking all our jobs and showing up at polling places to take part in our democracy. They’re crafty!

Depends on where you live. I’ve had to show my id several times. Republicans could attempt to hide what they’re doing if they gave reasonable time-frames for people to get IDs. Instead, they don’t give a shit how obvious it is. Make a new rule that goes into effect exactly on election day for all they care. As long as they tip the odds in their favor, it couldn’t matter less to them what they have to do.

Until I moved to the PNW I’d voted in Ohio and Kentucky, both of which made me show ID to vote at least since Obama in Ohio
