Finally, I can go see whats that damn noise my neighbor is doing in his basement every fricking night.
Ich dachte Minecraft hat ein -/
256384 block limit in der Höhe?It looks like you can have a bit over 4,000 blocks/meters of verticality with a custom world.
Apparently, they use the mod Cubic Chunks and Minecraft Java Edition 1.12.2 from 2017. Source heise.de.
With that, theoretically, the most accurate you could get for a non-modded world would be a 1:5 scale, where 1 block = 5x5x5 m irl.
That is if we assume Sagarmatha and Challenger Deep as peak and bottom, which yields a range of 20,000 blocks in height.
If you wanted to use vanilla Minecraft mountain heights and ocean depths, and went by a range of 320 to -64, then you could use a scale of 1:50.
Fun fact: the largest thus far you can get for download is a 1:326 scale map, where the mountains have been amplified in height. So in reality it’s horizontally 1:326 and vertically might be closer to the 1:50.
Unfortunately, Minecraft worlds are horribly optimised for size; the 1:326 one alone is 270 GB. Try backing that up! but it’d be nice if in the future that improved and we could see a, say, 30 GB world map at 1:5 scale…
