The procedural issues on this third bill are crazy.

In the federal system, all felonies must be charged by indictment. The prosecutor can do a felony complaint, but that only allows them to arrest someone and potentially hold in jail for up to 30 days while they go get an indictment. Bills of information can only be used if the defendant agrees to it, and that is usually part of a plea deal together with a guilty plea.

So these new chucklefucks filed an unwaivered information on October 5, 2026, for a crime that allegedly occurred on October 5, 2016. Ten years to the day, on a 10 year statute of limitations.

They can’t even get an indictment in time.

He initiated the 2016 FBI Russian interference investigation. Not much more explanation needed.

Somewhat related: If memory serves, at the very beginning Trump had a meeting with Comey, where he essentially asked Comey to pledge his loyalty to Trump, and Comey said he would pledge his loyalty to the Constitution. (This is not a “hero” story for Comey, since of course he was certain reopening the Clinton investigation was a power move to keep his job and independence after Clinton inevitably won in 2016, so…he’s an idiot.) Of course that told Trump Comey couldn’t be trusted.

Just something I think about when I see every other appointee in his White House today. Zero doubt in my mind that they made an actual pledge to Trump to be loyal to him above the Constitution.
