Matthew Unglesbee admitted to sending the letters to four unidentified politicians, officials say
An Illinois man accused of sending letters containing suspicious white powder to four members of Congress has been arrested after he allegedly wrote his own name and return address on the envelopes, according to authorities.
Matthew Unglesbee, 36, of Quincy, remained in the custody of US marshals on Tuesday on federal charges of perpetrating a hoax and sending threatening communications through the mail.
In an eight-page criminal complaint unsealed on Monday, Charis Hobbs – a taskforce agent with the FBI’s Springfield office – said Unglesbee admitted during an interview on Sunday that he sent the letters to the four unidentified politicians.
Unidentified because he’s probably a magat.
DING DING DING DING DING
We have a winner!
Adams County Illinois in 2024 voted for Trump 72.9%, Harris 25.5%.
He’s been convicted of threatening a public official, impersonating police and sexually assaulting a minor, then violating the sex offender registration laws. Now, he’s facing his first federal charge after the FBI said he admitted sending threatening envelopes to four Illinois members of Congress, including northwest suburban Democrat Brad Schneider.
The usual suspect.
It’s always the ones you most suspect
This guy sounds like he has some kind of developmental disability.
It’s like he wants to go to prison
Ahh, Republican. Who’d have thunk?
To sum it up with one word, a Republican.
Killing senators would be awesome but plan better next time.
The original anthrax mail attacks weren’t even designed to kill senators, much less whatever this moronic boomer copycat did.
tl;dr anthrax is a terrible bioweapon choice with a limited number of people capable of doing it, most experts agree the goal was to panic congress into taking bioterrorism seriously, not the deaths themselves
Not too swift there, are we, MAGA Matt?
