Once upon a time, there was this little sparrow, who while flying south for the winter froze solid and fell to the ground.

And then to make matters worse the cow crapped on him, but the manure was all warm and it defrosted him.

So there he is, he’s warm and he’s happy to be alive and he starts to sing.

A hungry cat comes along and he clears off the manure and he looks at the little bird and then he eats him.

And the moral of the story is this: everyone who craps on you is not necessarily your enemy, and everyone who gets you out of crap is not necessarily your friend, and if you’re warm and happy no matter where you are you should just keep your big mouth shut.

In the time before time, the Great Spirit descended from the heavens, carrying we the ones called the Matoran, to this island paradise. We were separate and without purpose, so the Great Spirit blessed us with the three virtues: unity, duty, and destiny. We embraced these gifts and, in gratitude, we named our island home Mata Nui, after the Great Spirit himself.

But our happiness was not to last. Mata Nui’s brother, Makuta, was jealous of these honors and betrayed him. Makuta cast a spell over Mata Nui, who fell into a deep slumber. Makuta’s power dominated the land, as fields withered away, sunlight grew cold, and ancient values were forgotten.

Still, all hope was not lost. Legends told of six mighty heroes, the Toa, who would arrive to save Mata Nui. Time would reveal that these were not simply myths - for the Toa did appear on the shores of the island. They arrive with no memory, no knowledge of one another - but they pledged to defend Mata Nui and its people against the darkness. Tahu, Toa of Fire. Onua, Toa of Earth. Gali, Toa of Water. Lewa, Toa of Air. Pohatu, Toa of Stone. And Kopaka, Toa of Ice. Great warriors with great power, drawn from the very elements themselves. Together, they were six heroes with one destiny: to defeat Makuta and save Mata Nui.

Three kittens were a mewing. They did not want to sleep. Their momma was a purring. They wanted to play hide and seek.

The first kitten hid in a drawer. The second hid in the closet. The third kitten hid under the bed.

    They didn’t make a peep.

Momma went looking. No kittens to be found. She was still a purring but the kittens made no sounds. Momma got so sleepy, the kittens were sleepy too. Hide and seek was a failure. Bedtime came too soon.

Birds chirped in the morning. The rays of sun began to creep.

The first kitten came out of the drawer yelping meep meep meep. Momma kissed this kitten and her achey little neck. She sat her down for breakfast, a bowl of milk and a snack.

The second kitten creaked out of the closet. He yelped ouch ouch ouch. Momma kissed this kitten and sat him on the couch. He had an achey hiney and a hunger for some food. Momma gave him gravy and that helped his kitten mood.

The third kitten was still missing, but Momma heard his snores. She checked under the bed, where he was sleeping on dusty boards. The third kitten was so dirty, so she left him in the tub. She had to wash his whiskers and he could only shrug. The third kitten ate some cheese, as it was all that was left. Momma went a hungry, but thats how being Momma went.

The next night the kittens heard it was bedtime, but they didn’t dare to fuss. They loved their purring Momma and how often she would fuss.

So if you’re feeling sleepy, please lay right there in bed. But if you hide, ill go seeking, cause that’s the Mommas lament.
