We are building a community based on shared experiences. Since we are a bunch of fucking weirdoes with nothing in common, we are creating experiences out of thin air.
Ok kids. Let me take you back in time to the olden days of yore, or as we like to call it, Wednesday morning.
Back then, a little-known user, @dgdft@lemmy.world, posted an innocuous shitpost regarding early Mr. Universe winner, Bruce Randall:
https://kbin.earth/m/lemmyshitpost@lemmy.world/t/3329134/In-the-late-1950s-early-Mr-Universe-winner-Bruce-Randall#comments
Bruce bulked up by putting powdered milk in his milk. This grabbed Lemmy’s attention by the beans and resulted in the memegasm of powdered milk we see today. Last time I checked, it had blown all the way up to Ten Forward:

…where apparently resistance to powdered milk is futile.
These days (Wednesday evening), the powdered milk memegasm has mostly run its course. Metamemes are popping up, blending beans and milk, with dire consequences for Lemmings’ digestive systems and anyone standing downwind of them.
In essence, powdered milk is a prime example of the meme lifecycle - arising from a shitpost, wafting high on its own cringe into the collective consciousness to be flung between hairless apes until it splatters over everything, marking everything with its scent before finally descending back into the shitpost from whence it came.
Side note: This would make a perfect subject for a documentary on memes narrated by David Attenborough.
If you taught my history classes, I probably would have actually learned something.
If I had tenure at a Uni, I’d make a history of memes class.

Poetry!
Class act bro
Powdered milk today, formerly beans, or corn, and who know what comes for us in the future?
Gonna completely ignore soapy tiddys?
Or butt sharpies. I would not partake personnally, butbibstillbget a good chuckle in the office section at costco
I thought this was more of specifically on our trans lemmy side, was it elsewhere too?
Don’t forget deans
Corned eel…wadded beef…
Those are perfectly cromulent things to eat.
I’m still back at soapy tiddies.
But what if the soap was…
Covered in beans?
… the soap was 4?
THERE ARE FOUR BEANS!
Soap covered powdered milk?
Soapy beans powdered with milk
Soapy milked bean powder?
Bean soaped powdered tits?
The powdered milk was in the tits all along!
Did somebody say POWER MILK? 🔋🐮🔋
RANT:
that actually makes me want to quit Lemmy. I really hope the kids responsible for those “sophisticated” jokes will realise it is not funny. I get tired reading 10th meme in a row, regarding some random thing because some obscure and usually unimportant thing happened, and stupid stuff like that recently happens twice a week.
It’s lame. And it makes clear why Lemmy will never be in the main stream.
If you’re tired of stupid meme’s maybe shitposting is not a good community for you?
You read 10 in a row? Maybe you are the problem then. Use your free will to skip the other nine while chuckling under your breath…“Those wacky kids”…
I can skip content? What’s next, changing TV channels during the ads? That’s crazy!
Go to bed, grandpa
Can’t, my back hurts :P
Perhaps if you consumed a little more powdered milk, your back might be stronger…
I’ll see myself out.
