I think it’s stupid that this is blowing up as much as it is without pointing out one key thing that makes Alaska the state that is the most pointless for this to be a problem.

It’s a ranked choice voting state. If someone is confused as to which to vote for, they can vote for both.

This is literally the state where you can rank multiple candidates and the bottom ranked get dropped until someone gets a 50% majority. This is absolutely one of the worst states to try a “spoiler” candidate.

Why are Democrats always hold to a higher standard than Republicans? Mainstream media is freaking out over this, meanwhile the trump administration is the most corrupt administration in modern US history and they barely care.

It’s hardly a secret if he is on the ballot. The alaskan Supreme Court ruled on it, and the New York time reported on it.

Gotta go with the headline I was given, but while we’re critiquing it - considering every voter they talked to for this article thought the NYT story was stupid, “mixed reactions” is a hell of a euphemism

Hey, there were two Alaskan voters that opposed it. A literal Republican senator and a guy working for the opposing campaign. Mixed!

Underhanded? Yes, but this is the equivalent of the “Wrong Ball” play in a football game, except telegraphed WAY in advance. If nobody knew there would be a duplicate Dan Sullivan on the ballot until they stepped into the booth that’d be bad, but even then the ballot says “Republican” and “Incumbent”. If this makes you mad then Super PACs and dark money should make you livid right? Right???

Fairbanks doctoral student Eric Evans said he was frustrated the controversy was drawing attention away from more important issues, such as the war with Iran. He said he had yet to make a final decision on who to vote for in the race.

“I think it’s really, really unfortunate that the state Supreme Court of Alaska ruled on this months ago, and that this is what we’re talking about at this critical point in time, when, really, we should be talking about, how are we going to solve things?” he said.

It’s really wild that a doctoral student concerned about the war on Iran would be undecided at this point.

Well that’s a dumb response. You think just scientists in general are “the bad ones”?

Calls a comment dumb, doesn’t understand from context that the comment is clearly referring to schools of philosophy.

What words did you use to come to the conclusion that his doctoral studies are in philosophy? The story doesn’t even say Ph.D., let alone the word philosophy. Even if it did say Ph.D., that is just a title and rarely has anything to do with philosophy. Engineers, Physicists, Mathematicians, etc all get Ph.D. titles when they go for a doctorate.

I really still can’t tell if you’re stubbornly bad at making jokes or don’t know what a doctor of philosophy is.

Yes, and as undecided voter (an idiot) he exclusively studied all the bad philosophy.

Everything explained enough for you or do I need to start explaining what all the individual words mean too?

What’s crazy is I haven’t seen a single comment from the actual dude who’s running…

Like not even a “no comment”, I haven’t seen a single journalist that even tried to reach out to ask him why he’s running and if anyone recruited him just for his name.

I did see like, one clip of him.

Not gonna lie though, it’s kinda legit. I mean even if he went through the paperwork and legally changed it (I know he didn’t but still) its not like human names are like domain names on the web. He still is listed as an independent and I kinda gotta respect the dedication.

Still not as bullshit as al gore and florida
