My shrink disagrees. Anyway, that is a picture perfect snapshot of lemmy, “I’m a normal human but my normal quirks make me special. I have no exposure to people IRL and memes reinforce this belief. That’s SO autistic, LOLLOLOLOL!”

Any one symptom in isolation is often brushed off as simply eccentric. It’s the combination of dozens to thousands of these frictions, over a lifetime, that makes it a disorder.

Congratulations on being neurotypical, though; happy for you.

So far, I have every “symptom” of autism and ADHD I’ve seen on every meme here. My shrink gave me a wry smile when I asked, “No, I don’t think so.”

If you’re young and locked behind a screen instead of interacting with humans, all the things are uncomfortable and seem weird. I’m middle-aged and unemployment and social isolation is getting to me as well!

It’s not just you, it’s all of us. But you can’t know that if you’re not taking part in society. Social frictions are normal. It just seems abnormal because everyone is hiding their tiny anxieties in social gatherings. When you actually get close to people and talk, you’ll find they experience the same shit. There was a whole movie about this called The Breakfast Club.

And for the record, my daughter has a touch of the 'tism and ADHD. She’s pretty much normal, whatever that means.
