It’s always the ones you most suspect
My favorite part of this is that pretty much everyone ive told about this situation has responded with “didnt that already happen?”
As someone in another thread pointed out, The Onion already called that one…

Expected. Maybe he’ll finally drop the Christianity act.
Welllll, the Bible does tell of how God uses the rape of innocent women to punish their sinful husband. So if Brand’s the flavor of Christian that believes the Bible contains an accurate representation of God’s character, then Brand is acting perfectly in line with being a Christian.
2 Samuel 12:11, David has slept with another man’s wife and then killed the man, God says he will have David’s wives (concubines) raped in public to punish him:
Thus says the Lord, > ‘Behold, I will raise up evil against you from your own household; I will even take your wives before your eyes and give them to your companion, and he will lie with your wives in broad daylight.
He doesn’t just condone rape or allow for it to happen, he actively makes it happen “I will raise up evil against you […] I will take your wives before your eyes”.
Reason 725 I deconstructed.
You don’t think it’s genuine?
I’ve come to the difficult conclusion that his conversion is a bit of a ruse. This has hurt the hearts of many Christians, who profess that Brand is their favorite comedian.
Are the many Christians who care but aren’t speaking out with us in the room now?
No, they’re all sitting in the White House.
You think raping women was an act?
Reading isn’t for everyone…
See, I used to think that they just needed to read their bible to understand how fucked up their religion is, but I have since realized they love the rape on their own, without needing to be convinced by it’s crazy commands. So in the end, I don’t think reading will help.
Brand stood outside the door of the dock shortly before the jury delivered their verdicts and looked at his wife, Laura, saying: “Laura, I love you.”
This is very sad. Laura has my complete sympathy.
She willingly married him knowing about the rapes.
Oh. Well, never mind, then.
There have been sexual assault allegations against him since 2006, four years before they got married.
