She’s still supporting Trump and is claiming that if Trump knew about this then he’d take her side.

    My god what incredible stupidity

It’s likely not stupidity but for personal advancement, the party needs tokens to show they aren’t racist, because they are, and it’s long been true that a personality could make a good career uncle tomming for the party.

White supremacists believe white people should be in charge of things. That doesn’t mean that a white supremacist needs to be white themselves.

      She’s a white supremacist too.

Ignorance, in short. She thinks, among other similar things, that they’ll let her alone if they think she’s on their side. She’s not quite understanding that people like that are damaged and don’t (can’t?) think of others different than themselves as anything but enemy regardless of what objective reality slaps them across the face with.

It’s like some variation of Stockholm syndrome.

In a follow-up video, Louise said she doesn’t blame the Republican Party for the embarrassing incident. “[They] have loved me, and they have welcomed me with open arms. But Ken Paxton’s campaign manager, that person is 100 percent responsible for the disrespect that I received this evening.”

Yes! Cognitive dissonance avoided! Good thinking, Louise!

You get it! People point to this sort of thing and call it cognitive dissonance. Nope. Dissonance is a painful mental state, this is the cope we’re seeing.
