I haven’t seen nellie’s nest since I got off reddit. And his style has changed a lot since then. But I still immediately recognized it.

I should catch up on this sick fuck again.

Get ready to be pissed off because for most people we totally can and have been able to for decades! Hormonal birth control will stop them in the majority of [biological females]. They just include those sugar pill days where you get your period for anti-abortion bullshit reasons, there’s no medical reason to do that. Even hormonal IUDs will stop them for many people, myself included - last one I had was 5 years ago, and that was because of a brief one-week gap between removing my old one and getting a replacement put in.

I agree that we should improve things through modern medicine, just sharing what I remember/ found about the evolution side:

It’s been a while, but from what I remember, menstruation evolved in humans (and closely related species) as a defense mechanism for mothers. Other species reabsorb the lining instead of ejecting it, mainly because it’s thin enough to do so.

For one, a thicker lining protects the mother from the baby/placenta, which is trying to embed itself further to better pull resources from the mother’s body.

We also have a much higher chance of miscarriages and improper development of the fetus, and so having a thicker lining and a method for “ejecting” allows for the mother’s body to remove a fetus that won’t make it, instead of burning more resources growing it or risking harm from miscarriages.

When I think of bad evolution, I think of stuff like choking, which only happens because of the order that the two pipes evolved. I don’t think there’s an evolutionarily helpful reason for why we can choke

Udders with 4 teats, no boobs. They’re the same organ, different configuration. Alternatively udders & boobs, for a total of 6, and somebody in a lab coat winning a Nobel Prize for his paper on the patient. Either way there’s something wrong with that dude and that poor therapist doesn’t want to think about it enough to break it all down, and neither should you.

Same place; it’s only blood during that time of the month. Which isn’t actually completely implausible given how mammory glands evolved.
