  • As the post was recently un-removed (shout-out to the mod team here), we can continue the discussion here if you’d like:

Your position is more or less that I am so terribly wrong that you’re not going to bother educating me, correct?

For the record I’m not trying to pester/harass/troll you as you suggested via DMs - I’d just rather move the conversation here. Feel free to screenshot the entire thing and put it in a reply for transparency and posterity’s sake. Or don’t reply if you’re positive I’m a troll; that’s fine too.

  • You’re mischaracterizing what I said, probably to push your agenda. Either read more carefully or skitter back to somewhere people don’t bother thinking before typing.

Because your eyes are already observing the backs of your sockets, I’ll hold your hand:

I never said the USA isn’t a genocidal settler colony turned global hegemony, nor did I say it doesn’t deserve criticism for that and more, nor did I say I don’t enjoy such criticism. Hilariously ironically, I said the opposite.

I can’t confirm if the second half of your username is true, but the first half sure is.

  • Stalinists, Maoists, etc.

Hyper means “over,” “above,” etc. I think it’s Greek in origin?

“Auth” is short for “authoritarian,” meaning those who lean towards “a good society is one with stricter enforcement of laws,” as opposed to “libertarian” philosophies, generally meaning those who think people should be left alone more often than not.

Left is the political “left,” generally proposing a “managed economy” or “regulations on businesses,” as opposed to the “right” which often values Laissez-faire capitalism.

Hyper-auth-left people believe that the best society is one where a vanguard party (often led by an autocrat) destroys capitalism, capitalists, and often anything that even remotely resembles either (examples of the latter including academics, people who wear glasses, and Jewish people), usually violently.

  • I totally get that as a philosophy, but the people (or for all I know, bots) that I’ve been running into lately aren’t that.

As an example, they’ve done mental gymnastics to build the following logic:

    • Russia opposes the US (factual)

    • The US is imperialist (factual)

    • Therefore anything Russia ever does cannot be imperialism, but must be anti-imperialism (???)

    • Therefore anyone who criticizes anything Russia ever does must be anti-anti-imperialist, ergo imperialist (???)

It’s people LARPing wanting freedom from tyranny who actually just want despotism with a different flavor on the boot.
