I recently took my bike to a party. Tried some new liquors beyond my means.
I ended up walking my bike home, which was long but not impossible. It sucked that most Ubers can’t stow a bike, not quite sure how else I might’ve handled it.
A lot of the positions you’re thinking of the person taking are extremely competitive. So, while that situation is unenviable, you can also think of it as promoting a more worthy candidate.
Still doesn’t pass over the simple idea that there should be more jobs available. (Maybe even more judges/lawyers/doctors)

I’ve always felt sexual repression is an important part of fascist playbooks but couldn’t explain why. This writeup is great for that.
Also, in Jedi: Survivor, after Order 66, Cal Kestis abandons the Jedi ideals and takes on a girlfriend. It’s pretty satisfying.
There’s also a lategame struggle against the Dark Side. It becomes your L3+R3 super mode, and Cal openly admits he wants his friends to hold him back from using it too much. Could be a bit of a statement on using violence and anger in extreme scenarios, more than just “100% nonconfrontational pacifism all the time”.
Life lesson: Being smart and mature keeps you out of relationships.
I will grant you Brits “aluminium”. It fits the etymology of the periodic table.
But stop adding random vowels to the word “color”. You’re just forcing fanciness.

The part that makes me angry is that a few minutes research will often find you a trove of small businesses serving fine coffee in the area. I really don’t see what’s special about that brand.

I’ll admit, between games involving trains, or boats, eg Subnautica / Sea of Thieves, I have always adored the feeling of having a moving base.
Sadly, a lot of people with those boat homes in normal pricing range still end up leaving it in one spot because of mooring fees.
There’s a phrase I thought up, which might be a thought stopper or reverse stopper depending on your perspective.
“If it’s popular, it’s not illegal.”
Imagine you’re a cop sitting across from Rosa Parks the day she refuses to give up her seat. Do you arrest her?
Legality should be informed by ethics, and generally they only larger systemic result I care about is “If it’s right, and the law is far from my morality, I’ll trust that the law will catch up to my breach.”
The small danger to acknowledge is when a popular act is driven by hatred or bigotry, rather than actual societal outcomes. There’s no one simple way to address that, but dialog and visibility helps.
Both parties want lobbies, but most citizens do not; most actual voters, when asked directly about the issue, oppose money in politics and want to repeal Citizens United.

Never would’ve quite considered that the software open source movement, and gardener groups, would have such a fight in common.

So much liquid processing occurs in my mind as just boiling it, it’s kind of interesting to hear of a more inventive setup.

I got my Steam account through a HL2 disc too!
I remember being very excited when Steam added a new game that was not made by Valve. It was, at the time, an interesting experiment in digital distribution outside a big publisher. “Rag Doll Kung Fu”, a shitty click-driven fighting game.
Early on, I never imagined they’d get big names like Call of Duty publishing there, but it happened sooner than I expected.

“No, don’t worry, Mr. Conservative. I’m male, she’s female, your norms aren’t being broken yet.”
“…Yeh, but partner implies she’s your equal. That don’t sit right.”
I had an idea for a brief YouTube skit like this, titled:
“Cute girl with long legs has her skirt blown up!”

This always inspires me, even if admittedly the USA burned its chances of being a global leader in that space in the last 5 years or so.
Biden tried to make it a red state industry, and had a lot of buy-in from senators that wanted the jobs. But, they chose hatred-suicide with Trump. Others will take over, just sad America won’t really be a part of it.

I don’t think they could’ve ever made it this far if they didn’t rush. There’s no logic to their endpoint, and many of their coalition members are motivated by urgency and immediate results. Anyone who was asked to slow down, or given a moment to think through the logic, would’ve turned against them.

As a cyclist with a very third-eye view on cars and traffic lights, I promise you they’ll get where they’re going about as fast as before.
If you have a path to change the system of governance, that could be worth pursuing. But voting isn’t a path to that - just a form of harm reduction within the system.
You still buy groceries - even though you may hate the process of handing over your net worth for something that helps sustain your life and want to change that.
If for some reason the challenge of avoiding meat entirely threatens to get you abandoning your principles entirely, the other option is to just vastly reduce your meat consumption. We get used to giant portions with each meal; but there’s many ways just a little bit of meat can greatly enhance the flavor of a dish.
Still, worth looking at the many forms of meatless cooking too.
