Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Best electric toothbrush, Philips or Oral-B
2·9 hours agoOral B has been my go to electric brush.
Had a Oral B Braun circular brush for about 10 or more years. Excellent brush and honestly it could probably still last for a few more years, but decided to finally upgrade to a Oral B IO sonic brush.
Both are great and better then a regular brush, but I do prefer my sonic brush versus the original electric brush. Both have the same circular brush heads which is what I would recommend going with.

5·9 hours agoThis one always gets me, walking home from the bar drunk (to avoid driving) can get you thrown in prison, or shot. At least in the US.
Honestly a cop would give you less hassle if you drove home drunk.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Help: Inito vs Mira any private & local alternatives? English
0·4 days agoIs anyone in the community aware of any local, offline, or self-hosted alternatives to products like these?
I was reading the privacy agreements on both and both collect and sell data. Inito seems better but it still says it will use collected metadata to sell targeted personalized ads.

0·4 days agoImmich as recommended by a few others, and there’s also Nextcloud, but keep in mind Nextcloud is a little “heavier” in that it has more functions and features.
For example it can be used as a drive, calendar, contacts, notes, and photo alternative. Look into a addin for Nextcloud called memories that I personally like better than the native photo app.
I run both immich and Nextcloud, as well as a bunch of other alternatives to Google’s services.
Sony uses a VPN to spoof its location outside of the geoIP blocking area, and then is surprised it can access a blocked site? WTF
Judge somehow does not see the distinction, or understand location spoofing at all.
Fundamentally even with TLS enabled and encrypting your DNS queries your ISP can still see what websites you are going to. Not what your doing on those sites, but they can see a visit to those sites.
Here’s a video that shows what your ISP can still see.

politics @lemmy.world•No sex. No dating. No marriage. No children. Interest grows in 4B movement to swear off men
0·2 years agoI find nothing wrong with this movement, but at the same time I almost feel like this movement is exactly what “government’s” may want. Less educated individuals having children means more uneducated voters in the long run.
Kind of like that scene in Idiocracy (2006).

They do, but thankfully with pfSense you can do DNS overrides with firewall rules to force all network devices to use local DNS, blocking everything else.
