I just go with the Oral-B Pro line, never had any problems. I had one for I think 20 years and it still works fine but I just bought a new one for myself after moving away.

One thing though: watch which brush heads you’re getting. I bought a bundle with the toothbrush and 4 heads and those heads suuuck; way to few bristles, leaves you feeling like you’re brushing your teeth with a rock.

I’ve had different dental workers recommend one, the other or “either, they’re all fine” at different times. They all universally recommend using an electric toothbruch if possible.

I used to have a sonicare for years but when the rubber around the button eventually disintegrated to the point where it stopped working, I switched to Oral B because the brush heads are smaller and cheaper. Definitely look at the cost of refills when thinking about the price. They all use an inkjet printer/ razor blade cartridge price model. And when you get something, don’t put it in a sunny window with the rubber covered buttons facing out, that is the 1st point of failure and UV rays seem to accelerate the damage.

Wish I knew about the UV damage, because my sonicare button disintegrated now.

Although I can still use it, as long as I use my nail to click the button.

Talking about the styles of brushes, not the actual brands, according to research, rotating brushes are slightly better than vibrating brushes but only a little bit, and require a more involved technique; but when used right, both are better than regular Modified Bass method.

    Suri.

Metal, repairable construction, charge lasts months not days, vastly reduced plastic waste.

The oral b and braun offers are just hunks of overpriced plastic that seem to be unchanged except gimmicks for the last 40 years.

Oral B has been my go to electric brush.

Had a Oral B Braun circular brush for about 10 or more years. Excellent brush and honestly it could probably still last for a few more years, but decided to finally upgrade to a Oral B IO sonic brush.

Both are great and better then a regular brush, but I do prefer my sonic brush versus the original electric brush. Both have the same circular brush heads which is what I would recommend going with.

Oral B I reckon, because the replacement brushes are cheap with plentiful 3rd party options. At least that’s why I bought into the oral b system about 5 years ago.

I used Oral-B for years but switched to Sonicare a few years back and haven’t regretted it. I don’t have strong feelings about one necessarily being better than the other, but I think either is a big upgrade from manual brushing.

And I know this isn’t what you asked, but if I were to get a new brush now I would probably consider one from Suri. The amount of waste from toothbrushes of any kind is annoying, and I’m always trying to reduce my footprint where practical. Sorry for linking a site with a bunch of affiliate links, but apparently there are a range of different eco-friendlier electric toothbrushes and brush heads for both Oral-B and Philips (I’m not affiliated with any of these companies or this site): https://greenchoicelifestyle.com/eco-friendly-electric-toothbrushes/

I have a Oral-B with Li-ion battery, it’s reliable and fairly cheap, stay away from the ones with NiMH they die too fast.

From what I hear from people around me Phillips brush better, so if that’s more important for you then get that one.

Philips. Oral-B felt terrible, more spinny than vibrate-ey. But I tried Oral B because I’ve had a couple Philips die a young death, though had others in the family last a decade so 🤷

Don’t buy Phillips. They’re awesome, clean better, but I owned two and both broke within 2 years.

    Oral b is more reliable.

If you don’t mind buying them regularly though, Phillips

That’s interesting. In my experience, Sonicare fared far better than Oral-B. Philips seems to have better design in that the the brush part that goes in your mouth is isolated from the motor fluids. I had OralB leak into the brush head because there is a hole for whatever reason. 🤮 Technically, my oral-B still works, but at that point I can no longer use it.

Every oral b I had has lasted longer… For me, I always got the diamond clean as the charger is a glass.

I have one of the IQ now. One thing that is bad though is that the app doesn’t connect and offer what it promised anymore

I’ve heard bad things about the DiamondClean. I got one of the cheaper models and haven’t had any issues.

I just assumed they were all f**ked lol… but, maybe it is just multiple bad diamond clean models
