No, I haven’t. I didn’t need to, since your evidence contradicted you. Thanks, I guess?

Those are private (or whatever goes by private with the ccp) developments, which cut corners for profit. Same happens in Italy for instance, on a lower height.
Their public infrastructure (bridges, rail, hospitals) are not bad at all.

You can criticize China for many things, but building infrastructure… is a bold choice.
Looks outside: also no horses
Nope. The opposite. Everyone in the world is incompetent and if I want to have something done right I need to do it myself, therefore requiring very little from my environment: low maintenance.
(Exaggerated for dramatic effect)

Maybe it’s my feed. My front page never has relevant posts, no matter how I tweak my subscriptions, so most days I end up just browsing “all” sorted by most upvotes.

Yeah, there’s an even lower barrier of entry for bots on a federated model, by design. And people on here are definitely less nice than on reddit, the vibe is generally negative: most posts are rants, complaints or bad news. I miss the cat pictures sometimes.

I started like dozens of others when the api thing, but still visit reddit in read-only incognito mode because of the content. Not just the niche stuff, even mainstream things like soccer, F1 or chess, there is no content on lemmy. Anything that’s not politics, ai or Linux, basically. Even for tech, I usually find better content of linkedin than lemmy. Yes, not only ceos and recruiters post on linkedin if you follow the right people you can learn a bunch. But shitposting is fun, so I’m also here.
Not using any other fediverse services, it’s the same content in a different format.

If just the people who voted democrat (so leaving out disillusioned republicans and those who didn’t vote) decided to strike, the government wouldn’t be able to force 80 million people to work.
Strikes and protests don’t follow the exact letter of the law. I’m not saying to riot and burn cities, just show the same interest as when the local sports team wins a competition. You do see hundreds of thousands of people on the streets for that.

Organize and overthrow the oppressive government, which nowadays doesn’t require guillotines anymore (like France ca. XVIII century), it can be as boring as voting (Hungary 2026). Protest, strike and demand what is fair.
Or at least collectively bargain for better conditions. How do you think people got the 40h work week, 2 days weekend, universal healthcare (not in the US), mandatory paid leaves (not in the US), workers rights (you get the drill…).

Yeah, French people, Hungarians, poles, Czechs, east Germans… didn’t need fancy machanisms of coordination to take action

There would need to be sufficient market depth to pay someone to act.
If such a platform existed so many people would bet for “fire” that there wouldn’t be depth, but if you take a look around lemmy you can see some people hate AI so much they would do it anyways.

My point is that people would have an incentive to bet for the fire and then cause the fire, so once a bet is published chances are that the fire will happen.

I don’t think many people that don’t want a fire would use the platform…

Who would bet against those fires in a platformike that?

I already admitted to all genocides committed by capitalists, so I don’t know how I’m defending them. You really see this a sports team thing, right? BTW lol @ “scholars”

Israel states no genocide in Palestine. We can go home now, nothing to see here.
You have to read 100%, not the 1% that agrees with your political beliefs.
