Bernie running around and campaigning with AOC is him setting up his replacement for the leader of the Progressive wing.
Fair.
Sure technically they are in different parts of Congress,
This is where my problem lies though. AOC is already elected. Bernie will leave his seat one day and then his state will need a replacement. If he hasn’t helped build one up, there will be a vacuum and they could get a corpo in his place.
He’s getting the best healthcare (that he worked so hard to block for the rest of us when they were gutting the ACA).
That’s great. Bernie needed someone to step into his position years ago, though.
Everyone talked a big game about living RGB, but she’s a good example of holding on too long. She died and a conservative Justice was appointed in her place. Meanwhile a conservative Justice stepped down on purpose to allow Trump to appoint younger, more right leaning judges.
If Bernie doesn’t have a replacement lined up, it could severely backfire on us.
He’s too old and needs to pass the torch to someone with more staying power. He can stay on as an advisor or whatever.
Not just him. Even people like Bernie should have stepped down a long time ago. They aren’t raising up their future replacements at all.
Count the win now, but the actual work needs to begin once everyone is sworn in.
The 4chan subreddit gloated about it after the election too, in their sidebar.
Wondering how many of the people on those forums have had their lives negatively impacted by Trump administration 1 and 2.
Convinced that the only way third parties are going to get seats is if they campaign as Republicans or Democrats and then switch after election
they had both house and senate in 2019-2023
From the article:
Control of the Senate shifted over to a 50-50 party split on Wednesday as Democratic Georgia Senators Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock were both sworn in as the 49th and 50th Democratic senators, leaving Vice President Kamala Harris as the deciding vote should the chambers’ votes ever end in a tie.
50-50 split with Republicans potentially posing as Democrats is a pretty weak level of absolute control, but you’re technically correct.
I’ll vote for them because there’s no viable third party option that speaks to me.
They’re also easier to push to more progressive laws.
Also: all the Republicans are pushing trans ads HARD. I’m paying so much more for groceries and they’re airing ads about trans kids. Out of touch asshats.
Do they have something on her? I’ve never seen something like this before.
It’s a locked article for me but the description on the post says “real estate mogul.”
I don’t live in Canada, but I’ve heard the cost of buying or renting had been skyrocketing for a decade. I’m sure tensions are really high when people are having trouble putting food on the table.
My kids will be retirement age before we have a chance to improve our international relations
Probably getting a divorce, losing the kids and the dog, and getting blown up by a drone being piloted by a furry in the coming resource wars.
Sounds like he has a case of affluenza. Gotta let him off easy, right? The precedent has been set.
Maxwell is currently in a minimum security club med prison with a therapy dog and Internet access, right? After making a deal with the US government that seems to have resulted in no extra prosecutions?
The headline: oh that sounds horrible.
The description on this post: even worse than I thought it would be.
The article: not a single picture of the husband, who is also serving a life sentence. I wanna see what that mistake of a person looks like.
That sounds glorious.
I remember years ago when he was into legalizing marijuana and I thought he was alright.
Sometimes when you fall, you fall hard I guess.
I need money so maybe I should look into selling all of mind now.
