0·1 day agoI thought the image looked quickly-drawn, which is understandable for such a Wally-sized picture, but now that you mention the backwards faces in the bottom-right… And I should be on the lookout for signatures, indeed. That’s a good tip, thanks!
True, though I guess they don’t change the OS (only the repos), and don’t advertise/celebrate it as much…
But complaining or anything, just thinking “out loud” why people could feel this way about Debian but not Mint

2·2 days agoI didn’t get any notifications for a few days, until half a day ago, so probably on my instance’s part, no worries

This but unironically. They reviewed my code, and I explained my open tickets to colleagues and handed it over to them before taking time off. I can’t be needed right now when I’m off
Nope, they’re completely separate distro families!
Because Mint does release minor releases every 6 months

2·5 days agoMy favourite part is the updater and I miss it in other distros. I don’t always want to update blindly, I hate it about Windows and Arch and NixOS don’t fare much better OOTB. Mint’s updater shows you what can be updated, the from and to versions, how much data would be transferred, and most importantly the changelog of each part!
I genuinely appreciate I can go through these, uninstall anything I don’t use anymore and learn what new things will come to my computer!
At least having this option beats "Build 16553 is downloading several gigs over your hotspot, it’s important to do this now trust us” from Windows 😒
We switched from Laravel to Ruby on Rails. God, I miss Laravel. It’s like I’m sent back 5 years into the past!
Wait no hold up that’s actually p awesome

As someone who’s come back to Mint after distro hopping several times, welcome home 💚
