If I had to guess, I’d say that the likelihood of there being any of the active ingredient of either in the capsules is as close to zero as makes no difference, and, if there is any, it’s in doses so low that it would make even a homeopath blush, regardless of what it might say on the packaging.
English Mustard. A nice thick layer of it, as in, thick enough that you question the structural integrity of the result, and everyone else questions your sanity, in a cheese (other fillings are available) sandwich will light your day up. The heat is different to capsaicin, you feel it more in your nose and sinuses, but it has a similar effect. You get a mild, giddy, flying feeling for a moment, then settle down into a haze of sensation. The endorphin (I assume it’s endorphins anyway) release feels great, all my muscles relax, and it’s a pretty good painkiller too.
That sounds perfectly reasonable to me. You’ve stated your position, and explained why. You’ve kept the language polite and unemotional too, which is good.
The one thing I’d suggest is offering to mail this, and only this, check to him as a positive gesture. It may help him out of a hole (and from the sounds of it he’s not one for planning ahead, so he might well be in a hole), and might make the refusal sting a little less. You don’t owe it to him though, so only offer that if you’re willing.
If they make a mobo that’ll take at least 64gb of DDR3, and an architecture that’ll use it, I’m interested.
