or even enforces its own laws consistently

I’ve got a theory that they’re using an algorithm to track IPs written by a complete incompetent who never learned about either dynamically assigned IPs or the birthday paradox.
The weird thing about it all is how inevitable it always was. Texas went out of its way to attract tech companies, tech companies attracted educated people, educated people vote Democrat.
I had one, A: is where the CP/M boot disc lived and B: was for all the actual stuff.

“I think we can get them to brush their tongues”

the interesting thing with the votes on that comment is how many of them downvote for disagreeing with it as a direct statement and how many don’t like you calling out the tankies

seconded, every now and then the way I notice I’m not logged in is that there’s suddenly a load of absolute dogshit on my feed.
You don’t owe anyone a second chance if they post something dumb, it’s your feed, block block block. No need to announce it or have any great ceremony, just block and move on.

did someone say beans

They banned me for absolutely no reason.
A year ago whenever I saw someone say this my assumption was that “no reason” was like “I only posted a light-hearted joke about murdering queers”, but Reddit has been such an absolute garbage fire recently that they genuinely do seem to be banning people for the most incredibly milquetoast shit.
I was about to post that there was also more oxygen in the atmosphere during dinosaur times hence why they were so big, but I did a search to make sure and it turns out to be a debunked myth. There was a high oxygen era, but not during dinosaurs. TIL

yeah, my thought was it’s like saying libraries know more than people.

You can tell how competent someone is at something by how good they think an LLM is at that thing.

I was broadly with them until the penultimate paragraph; the only “mess” GDPR has made has been one that was deliberately self-inflicted by petulant advertisers trying to make things difficult for users in an attempt to get it neutered, because it actually requires companies to treat your personal data with a basic level of care and respect.

Fuel protest blockades that caused some amount of supply chain shock have happened at least 4 times since 2000, then there’s been random riots in cities that in some cases materialized out of nowhere (though widely suspected to be a Russian social media op), then covid, and now there’s the super El Nino threatening to cause droughts and global food shortages. So there’s that.
I wouldn’t mind them having money so much if it wasn’t for them spending it on destroying democracy

The only interaction I’ve ever had with mods on Lemmy has been every bit as awful as Reddit. People who want to become mods are usually not competent or well-adjusted.
