Well, the first problem is thinking that the “internet” has to be the siren servers. It’s the same kind of mistake that people made when thinking the “internet” is whatever AOL served up to them. Or whatever Explorer showed them as the homepage, etc.
I lost count of how many times I see someone showing up after the Eternal September began and declaring that others are not really as savvy as them about the “modern internet”, whatever the fuck that means (and I’ve been hearing this kind of thing since the 90s, by the way, so it always makes me laugh), when all most of them really know, honestly, is a few brands that run apps/web sites from siren servers. Scrolling through tiktok or whatever and dunking on “boomers” because they are scrolling on FB is…quite the take. Choosing Coke over Pepsi.
That is like declaring you “know computers” because you learned just a bit about how to use spreadsheet and word processor software from one brand.

I’m sorry I ever doubted Prince.
Eh, I like Prince, but this sounds really dumb. I don’t know how much this was some galaxy-brained stuff due to him being JW, but…this is a really wild take.
Could have been he was butthurt over things like music streaming and so on, I have no idea.
But saying the Internet is over is like saying electricity is over. Good luck unringing that bell.

I saw it was from apple.news and thought wow, apple finally talking with their dick out
But it’s paywalled?
Try the reader mode on mobile – usually bypasses paywalls.
Private window is fine for me.
Use Firefox with uBlock Origin, then activate reader mode.
Non-paywalled
Maybe they’ll come to fediverse. That might be nice …
