Interesting or coincidence that they used the name Weems in this strip and in the Wednesday series as the name of the Principal.

I have barely watched Wednesday, so I missed that detail. I highly doubt it is a coincidence.

Since they didn’t offer more information, and you genuinely asked a valid question I’ll bite…

In the OG strip, Thing was a full body character that Iived in the walls. The hands version of “Thing” was developed for the TV show.

Not in the strips, there is a lot more info in this post, and this post sadly because slrpnk is down, the images may not be available. But there is discussion about Thing throughout the comments.

Both posts are of the same images in two different communities with two different discussions. I will try and figure out which images I posted and upload them again.

Is that Thing before it lost the rest of its body? Because I see eyes and a nose.

EDIT: Huh. TIL. Well, I suppose Thing the hand could be left over from the full-body version in the strip after an accident, or… not an accident. Climbing around in the walls would be much easier if one were just a hand. “Oh, the places I’ll go, and the things I’ll see!”

In the strips Thing always had a head and body shown except for one strip where they are inside a record player.
