    Ok my audio problems:

My audio jack on the mobo is wrecked. It only sends noisy signals.

My hdmi audio sent to the monitor and then picked up from an audio jack there has issues with Nvidia drivers…

My current solution of a usb to audio adapter is breaking after each suspend.

    Any ideas?

The biggest tell is the high contrast. As much dark space as light. Some artists do produce that style, but the generated stuff still lands far too smack dab in the middle of brightness if you smudge the pixels together in your head. It’s much less noticeable these days, but the pattern persists. If it’s funky and well balanced over ALL pixels, and yet not a known artist for the style, it’s like 98% confidence it’s generated.

Nobody’s snapping that balanced of HDR shots from reality unless it’s a damn photoshoot.

I have this issue where certain apps stop playing audio for a few seconds, then resume. The issue happens randomly, and it seems it’s caused by a buffer underrun, but I haven’t been capable of finding a solution. It happens with most audio players: QuodLibet, Fooyin, Rhythmbox, Strawberry, Clementine. It doesn’t happen at all with MPD or web browsers.

I’ve tried configuring Pipewire, GStreamer, and ALSA with no avail. And at this point I’m too tired, really. I’m using Fedora now, but the issue has happened on Endeavour and Debian too, so… ¯\(ツ)/¯

TBH yeah kinda. My Debian install automatically switched to pipewire after the last release upgrade, and that’s been shit. My soundcard’s USB-connection is physically unstable sometimes, pulseaudio and jackd can recover from a lost connection easily but Debian’s pipewire setup couldn’t (and if there was a way to manually fix it, there wasn’t any documentation on it that I could find that actually worked).

I fixed it by using a different USB cable (that is a lot shorter, which is an issue on my desk) und uninstalling pipewire, but the latter seems kind of unsustainable and I’m not very motivated to buy yet another different USB cable, the one I bought that had problems was already one of the more expensive ones (and it wasn’t low quality, it was just ever so slightly too narrow to fit securely).

What do you need help with? I recently set up an Alpine Linux system and was surprised how easy audio was. I just installed pipewire, pipewire-pulse and wireplumber, made sure they start when the system starts and added my user to the audio and video groups. I’m not an expert on Linux though, so I don’t know how it works on other systems.
