Love the country over party vibe while trump has notoriously favored red states and been intentionally cruel to blue. Bet he never piped up about that. What a goober. Your coworker is an idiot.

Yes he is an idiot very much so. Sadly I work with 10 other idiots as well, he is just the most outspoken when it comes to being online with this bs.

Always strikes me that the right thinks the left is also playing team sports, having the same rabid attachment to Democrats.

Voting Democrat is so thr opposite of that it’s not even close, it’s pretty much just voting “not those people”. Very rarely do I feel like I’m voting for a good candidate, they’re just better than the alternative.

    “And here’s something else”

“And the saddest part of all”

This reads like it was passed through an LLM.

I see they’ve progressed from denial to “both sides” bargaining.

I find it incredibly rich that the last statement is “country before party”.

Im sure he would have been this insightful about the two party system if his chosen political party had won, right?

Surely this isnt just sour grapes with a crybully tactic?

There are glimpses of reason in here. Much of what he said about the parties and the Super Bowl team is very true.

But fuck… Tanked all of it with the Trump sympathising.

Insight and self-reflection are only used as gambits when they’re on the back foot, he would never be this conciliatory or humble if the GOP had won more seats than they lost. Now they want to sound reasonable because it garners sympathy. “Unity” and “forgiveness” are just tactics, they’d never offer such olive branches if the roles were reversed.

Dave Chappelle did the same thing on SNL in December of 2020. He said “it’s good to be a humble winner. Remember how bad [2016] felt? All that anguish? Please remember that half the country still feels that way.” Less than 1 month later, Trump kicked off an insurrection to overthrow the results of the election. And Republicans still saw fit to elect him again just 3 years later. I’ll never fall for these crocodile tears again.

There is another coworker who is the same. Before the midterms he all excited and bragged about how the Republicans were going to kick ass. Now he is all “both sides are bad!”

While there are some points and some truths. Trump is the exception. He’s done more to enrich himself and screw over others than anyone. And so many billionaires pushing money to control the elections. So yeah it felt good to have some consequences some response. You can say what you want about “history” and how things repeat. I don’t recall any attempt at a Triumph De Clinton. Or Jimmy Carter trying to get his face on Mt Rushmore.

Oh and something something January 6th and the Epstein files

    FTFY:

Yes, we are celebrating this crap like somebody actually WON something! Won what? More investigations. More impeachments. Actual convictions and removals this time. Actual justice to be done.

PLUS actual progressives who want to get a TON of stuff accomplished for the American people!

No more will the people paying the bills, raising families, working their asses off, and trying to survive be the ones getting screwed. Finally. For once.

And here’s something else. You can criticize Trump all you want. That’s your right. But pretending every problem in this country started with Trump is just as ridiculous as pretending every problem will disappear when he’s gone.

Which is why we elected people who actually want to fix those problems.

Until Americans start putting COUNTRY BEFORE PARTY, we’re going to keep repeating the same miserable cycle. So let’s be done with it and move on.

If they’re capable of lucid though and voted for trump anyway, then they made a choice to choose fascism over country. They wanted theirs and they didn’t give a shit who got hurt along the way to get it.

That’s true. That’s an inherent and irreparable quality of their political alignment. Also one of the reasons I dislike people over relying on Hanlon’s razor.

No they were not. They (and we) always pull this “actually it’s all planned they just want to keep us divided and you guys are falling right for it!!1” shit when they lose power. It’s the easiest and most defensible thing to say at the face of overwhelming popular rejection of your ideals. What do you think their reaction would be right now if Repubs had swept?
